Meet Kate
Kate Jenkins is mum to two beautiful teenage daughters, wife to JJ, and the driving force behind Froginwell Estate.
Her journey began in 2012, when her father, Chris, gave her the opportunity to open a café in The Barn @ Froginwell. Having never run a business before, Kate threw herself into the challenge—learning quickly, making mistakes, and building something special through determination, creativity and hard work.
From the café grew a thriving wedding business, which Kate developed over the following years. After deciding to focus solely on weddings, she successfully established Froginwell as a sought-after venue before eventually selling the wedding business to focus on new ventures, whilst retaining the estate itself.
Never one to stand still, Kate went on to create Sanctuary Sleeps—a beautiful collection of accommodation for wedding guests and holidaymakers—which opened in 2023.
But with road frontage, beautiful land and a head full of ideas, another venture was quietly taking root.
After growing flowers for her brother’s wedding at Froginwell, Kate formed a friendship with Katrina, and during a conversation in the summer of 2025, the tiny seed of an idea was planted. From that moment, through passion, hard work and many muddy boots later, Sanctuary Flowers began to bloom.
Today, Kate—along with her daughters Evie and Chloe—looks forward to welcoming you to this very special corner of East Devon.
And a special thank you goes to JJ, for his patience, support, and endless help in bringing yet another one of Kate’s “brainwaves” to life.

Meet Katrina
Katrina’s love of flowers began when she and Jamie got married in 2017. They were incredibly lucky to fill their wedding with blooms gathered from family and friends’ gardens, alongside flowers from a wonderful local grower. Seeing the beautiful arrangements they created sparked something in her—she became determined to learn how to grow flowers that beautiful herself.
What began as a hobby in her garden soon blossomed into an allotment in Woodbury, followed by a larger plot, and before long, she was growing and arranging flowers for four of her siblings’ weddings, as well as several close friends. As her flower-growing passion grew, so did her love of floristry—learning how to style, arrange and celebrate each stem at its best. That passion eventually led to a little flower stand on their driveway, selling seasonal bouquets grown with love at home.
Along the way, Jamie and Katrina welcomed their two gorgeous boys, Oscar and Ollie, who are budding gardeners in their own right—although they’re usually most excited when there’s a digger involved!
By trade, she is a primary school teacher and still teaches two days a week in Exeter, but flowers have always been quietly growing alongside family life and teaching.
Katrina first met Kate through the flowers she grew for her brother and sister-in-law’s wedding at Froginwell, and they quickly bonded over a shared love of beautiful blooms. When Kate spoke about her vision for a flower field, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect—coinciding with Ollie starting school and giving Katrina the time to help grow and develop Sanctuary Flowers.

Meet Dani
Dani joined The Barn @ Froginwell in 2014, fresh out of university and originally looking for a summer job before beginning teacher training. Thankfully for us, she stayed—and has been by Kate’s side through every chapter of Froginwell’s evolution.
Highly organised, calm under pressure, and renowned for her legendary list-making, Dani has become an invaluable part of the team. Today, she heads up Sanctuary Sleeps, ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless and memorable stay, with the care, attention to detail and high standards that define everything she does.
Alongside her gorgeous Vizsla, Goose, and her soon-to-be husband, Sam, Dani remains a much-loved and essential part of life at Froginwell Estate.
